DART

Accessible documents for everyone

DART was born from a simple observation: institutions spend millions remediating PDFs one page at a time — while students, employees, and citizens with disabilities wait. We built a better way.

Our Mission

Make every digital document accessible — regardless of format, volume, or budget. We believe accessibility is a civil right, and the tools to achieve it should be fast, affordable, and available to every organization.

DART uses AI to convert inaccessible PDFs into WCAG 2.2 AA compliant HTML in seconds — preserving tables, math, images, and document structure. What used to take hours of manual remediation now happens automatically.

What We Believe

Accessibility is a right, not a feature

Over 1 billion people worldwide live with a disability. Every inaccessible document is a barrier — to education, employment, and participation. We exist to remove those barriers at scale.

Compliance shouldn't bankrupt you

Manual PDF remediation costs $5-10 per page. For institutions with thousands of documents, that's an impossible budget. DART brings the cost under $1/page — making compliance achievable for everyone.

Quality without compromise

Fast doesn't mean sloppy. Every document DART produces meets WCAG 2.2 AA standards with proper semantic structure, screen reader support, and keyboard navigation. We don't cut corners on accessibility.

Built for the people who need it most

Universities, government agencies, nonprofits, and publishers — organizations with massive document libraries and tight budgets. DART was built for the institutions that serve the public.

The Problem We Solve

PDFs are the default format for academic papers, government reports, financial statements, and institutional documents. But most PDFs are inaccessible to screen readers, creating barriers for people with visual, cognitive, and motor disabilities.

Federal regulations (Section 508, ADA Title II) and international standards (WCAG 2.2 AA) require digital content to be accessible. Non-compliance means lawsuits, fines, and — most importantly — people being excluded from information they need.

DART automates what used to be a manual, expensive process. Upload a PDF, get back fully accessible HTML — with proper headings, alt text, data tables, and keyboard navigation.

Open Source at Heart

Accessibility tooling should be accessible. DART's core conversion pipeline is MIT-licensed and fully auditable. We charge for the hosted service — not the code. Inspect it, fork it, self-host it.
